The latest firmware 3.0 update for Wii may “brick” your modded Wiis. Some Wii users have reported receiving the following message before they download the latest 3.0 Firmware from Nintendo. The message states that:

“If your Wii console has an unauthorized technical modification, this upgrade could cause interoperability of your console.”

So now its official, updating Firmware 3.0 in your modded Wii may cause it to stop working completely. This is no surprise as Nintendo is pretty agressive in trying to eradicate modded Wiis in the US recently.

You have been warned, so if any of you have updated Firmware 3.0 to you modded Wii, please do share your experience and the status of your modded Wii after the firmware upgrade.
